Deborah Carter received her Master's Degree in Economics from the University of British Columbia, where she specialized in labour market economics. Since joining Associated Economic Consultants Ltd. in 1987, Ms. Carter has been the co-author of economic studies concerning labour market participation rates and the impacts of a residual disability on employment probabilities and earnings.
In personal injury and wrongful death matters, Ms. Carter has worked with computer models to determine the present value of future earnings losses, the economic implications of residual disabilities and the loss of economic support. She has been qualified as an expert witness in the Ontario Court (General Division) and has given expert evidence in both plaintiff and defence matters.
